15 Stories for 15 Years! Story #8...
We’re featuring 15 stories for our 15th anniversary! 2021 is the Great River Road Visitor & Learning Center's 15th year at Freedom Park. To celebrate, we will share 15 stories that highlight important moments in our history, remarkable people we've met along the way, lessons learned, milestones reached, and how Friends of Freedom Park and the surrounding communities have supported each other over the years.
Story #8: Do you know who owns Freedom Park and the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center? Well, if you’re a Prescott resident, YOU own them.
The city owns both the park and the building. The 501c3 charitable nonprofit Friends of Freedom Park, Inc., operates and advocates for them. It’s a partnership for the good of the community and the 180,000+ visitors from every state and more than 53 countries who have entered the doors to learn about life at the confluence of two great rivers.
Friends of Freedom Park is very grateful for the care and support that the city of Prescott has provided over the years. The city crew maintains the building, mows the grass, and helps keep the park shining as the gem of Prescott for all to enjoy.
Thank you, City of Prescott, WI! Thank you, donors and volunteers, for supporting the operations and programming of the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center!
Let’s keep it up! We want to make this an even more inviting, engaging, and inspiring place for the generations to come. We need your ongoing support to fulfill that vision.
