There’s a lot happening at the visitor center! Come and experience our newly refreshed center! New exhibits, new wall materials, an interactive “eye spy” mural. We also have many programs all free and family friendly!

AMAZING Experiences await you at our park and center

  1. A spectacular 4 acre park featuring; native pollinator gardens, butterfly/water garden with a butterfly bench. Seating that overlooks the mighty Mississippi river. It is dog friendly with many paths to walk on. And… it boasts the best sunsets in Prescott!

  2. Outdoor spaces such as the Gazebo or Pavilion for picnics in the park.

  3. A Bluff Walk running along the Mississippi featuring educational placards talking about river life and the migratory flyway zone which sees migrations of large birds such as Trumpeter Swans and Eagles.

  4. A beautiful center that hosts 3 interactive educational exhibits. Topics: Indigenous Persons of our area (curated by the Prairie Island Community), The Confluence of the Mississippi and the St. Croix Rivers, Transportation.

  5. Our center hosts on average 50 events a year! A place for lifelong learners! Events are listed on our Events Tab at the top of the website.

  6. Our center is also a travel center featuring brochures and maps specific to travel along the Great River Road! Come and pick-up a map or two!

7. Our park/center is in partnership with 2 National Parks; The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. You can get 2 passport stamps in our center!

8. A River Room Fine Art Gallery. This space is designed to feature and support local artists. Exhibits change monthly.

9. Outside art sculptures created by Greg Kraft

10. A Children’s Corner featuring the Junior Ranger program. We give out badges for the 2 National Parks listed above.

11. A fantastic gift store. A place to find a little something to remind you of your time on the Great River Road. All profits go help fund our summer welcome desk staff.

12. An interactive “Eye Spy” mural in the entrance to our center.

13. A cozy fireplace to sit by and sip your favorite beverage. A place to rest and relax!
